We make calm, honest tools for the small things that make up most of everyday life — your money, your attention, your time.
Why we started
Most productivity tools are loud. They want engagement — streaks, badges, push notifications reminding you to use the app that's supposed to help you use your phone less. The tools fighting for your attention look a lot like the distractions they're supposed to replace.
We wanted software that solves a problem, then gets out of the way. No gamification. No social feed. No surprise redesigns that move the button you trained your thumb to find. Just a useful thing that's there when you need it and invisible when you don't.
That's the bar for every app we ship. If it demands more attention than it saves, it doesn't leave our hands.
How we build
Principles, not slogans
These aren't aspirational — they're the rules we actually check against before shipping.
Private by default
We don't sell your data, we don't track you across apps, and we never show personalized ads. Where we use third-party AI, we use paid commercial tiers whose terms forbid training on your content. We disclose every piece of data that leaves your device — including the uncomfortable parts.
Calm on purpose
No streak counts. No daily push notifications. No 'you haven't opened the app in 3 days!' guilt trips. Our apps do what you ask, then go quiet. If you open the app once a week or once a day, neither is wrong.
Useful in five minutes
Every app has to pass a simple test: would a first-time user get real value in the first five minutes? If the answer is 'after you set up your categories, import your bank, configure your goals…', it's not ready.
Honest about limits
When our AI misreads a receipt, we flag the low-confidence fields instead of silently guessing. When we're early in development, we say 'coming soon' instead of 'sign up for the beta.' Trust is a slow thing to build and a fast thing to lose.
